Why:
The purpose of the PC4 Symposium is to provide a forum for those with an interest in cancer in primary care to showcase their work, to share ideas and expertise, and to network with people with similar interests.

Who:
We welcome all researchers, health care professionals and people in policy or program roles to contribute.

Length: 300 word limit
Timing: 12 minutes oral presentation
Selection: Peer review process

PC4/ Clinical Oncology Society of Australia Training Awards 2013

About the Awards
The objectives of the awards are to promote a greater understanding of the primary care needs of cancer patients and survivors, encourage research in this area and build capacity by encouraging early and mid career researchers to undertake research in primary care in cancer.

Two awards valued at $7,500 each are offered:

Bone Health After Cancer Award-this award will be offered to a clinician or researcher who will undertake a systematic review on the subject of bone health after cancer under the direction of the PC4 Scientific Working Group Members. The successful recipient will submit an abstract to the 2014 COSA Annual Scientific Meeting to present their findings.

Cancer and Primary Care Award- this award will be offered to a clinician or researcher who will undertake a research project in any area related to the primary care and cancer discipline. The successful recipient will submit an abstract to the 2014 COSA Annual Scientific Meeting to present their findings.

Eligibility
Applicants must be a member of PC4 (it’s free to join, just visit the website http://www.pc4tg.com.au/ ) AND a financial member of COSA.

Expression of Interest: Scientific Working Groups

There are three PC4 Scientific Working Groups (SWoGs)
– Prevention and Early Detection
– Shared care and survivorship
– Palliative care

The principal goal of each group is to develop and monitor a portfolio of high quality research for PC4, linked to our values and strategic goals. Members are expected to promote their role in PC4 and have the capacity to participate in a range of activities.
