Barbara is a Professor in Conservation Ecology and Remote Sensing at the Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand.
Barbara has an outstanding record of research success spanning geospatial science, remote sensing, ecosystem management and spatial ecology. Her research focus has been the identification, selection and environmental monitoring of Protected Areas, including in Antarctica. She has collaborated with the New Zealand Antarctic Heritage Trust to create a virtual reality experience of the Sir Edmund Hilary Hut at Scott Base.
