Welcome to the Narrative Practices in Therapy initiative.

Narrative practices play a robust part in strategies for promoting psycho-social wellbeing. Narrative-based therapies seek to empower groups and individuals, providing them with the resources and skills needed for positively improving their own wellbeing and coping with a range of life challenges. The ‘Narrative Practice in Therapy’ (NPT) initiative will bring the joint expertise of a team of researchers – both early and established – to bear in order to better understand the nature of narrative practices, how they might feature in narratively based forms of therapy and how they should be understood with the broader sciences of the mind. Making Narrative Therapy a common focal point, members of NPT will address questions about narrative practices and their relation to therapy.
