This seminar will explore the complexities of ‘Treaty Talk’ from both Indigenous Australian and Māori perspectives. Speakers will consider the (varied) experiences in Aotearoa/New Zealand and what treaty might look like for the diverse Indigenous communities across Australia.
Professor J. Kēhaulani Kauanui will respond to the presentation, drawing on her ground-breaking scholarship on Hawaiian sovereignty.
